Having several cooking books and magazine always tempted me to try to make it. Especially when there is an "Economic" or "Cheap" on their recipes.
This recipe was taken from a cooking magazine named "Sedap" 9/IX/2008 edition. Originally the recipe is Peanut Steamed Brownies, but since peanut is not my cup of tea, therefore i replace the peanut with chocolate compound.
This brownies need no oven, therefore is applicable to all household since we only need a steamer as seen in the photo or "Dandang" in Indonesia.
Ingredients:
4 pc eggs
80 gr castor sugar
60 gr flour
15 gr Chocolate powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
50 gr margarine
30 gr dark chocolate compound
1/4 tsp chocolate paste
25 gr milk chocolate rice (for filling)
1. heat the margarine, until it melt and turn of the stove. add the dark chocolate compound dan and chocolate paste until it all blend and melted perfectly
2. beat the eggs & castor sugar until it fluffy. add the sifted mix of flour, chocolate powder and baking powder, stir well. Add the margarine mixture slightly and keep stirring mildly
3. Pour in a pan size 24x10x7 cm which has been covered with baking paper, for about half of the pan height. steamed it for 10 minutes.
4. add the milk chocolate rice on top of it and cover it with the rest of the dough. Steamed until it done. Serve while its hot with some ice cream and mashed peanuts as the garnish.
